One of our favorite aspects of Bold Course was the Family Worship Night. Once a week we came together in our living room and enjoyed discussing what we had read during that time. We were able to guide our children through several discussion questions, and then through a time of worship in song and prayer. All of the ideas and questions are presented in the guide, so this was very easy to implement, both with our teenagers and our young children! We believe these Worship Nights will be memorable for our kids and we are really excited to see how the Lord will bless these special times with our family.

We really enjoyed the family worship night and how it allowed us to deeply discuss the material we studied throughout the week and grow closer to God as a family.  The journal portion of the daily encounters really helped us to be intentional about quieting our hearts and minds to focus on God's word, seeking to apply it to our life, and focusing in our prayer time.  Having the memory verse at the end of each day's journal entry allowed us to meditate on the Scripture and helped us practice learning the verse.  We are excited about Bold Course and how God will use it in the life and ministry of Birchman.

The three week Bold Course was a blessing to me personally.  The program provides an accountability with other family members or church members making it easier to be consistent.  God speaks to us through His Word and there is no substitute for regular daily Bible reading. I enjoy devotional reading with  associated Scriptures but chapter by chapter reading gives a clearer understanding of God’s working in the past, present and future and, more specifically, in my life. 

Each day as I read, I find a verse or a passage that really speaks to me – something to encourage me, challenge me or something for me to think on throughout the day.

What better way to start a day than letting God speak to me, memorizing His Word and praising and petitioning Him in prayer!

While we both study on our own, attend Bible study groups individually, have prayer time together,the Boldcourse materials provides a framework for us to study together and have a meaningful dialogue about what God is saying in His Word. Going to be great for us and our church family!

The Bold Course Discipleship Program has been such a blessing to my wife and I.  It has taken the guesswork out of leading spiritual discussions and has transformed our spiritual walk, both as individuals and as a couple.

When I first got married about three years ago, I was excited to step into my new role as spiritual leader.  Unfortunately, no one ever trains young men in how to do this!  I tried everything I could think of to set up devotional moments for the both of us that were deep and challenging, which turned out to be a difficult task.  We tried devotion books for married couples, devotional Bibles for married couples, and devotional workbooks, but we kept finding nothing but cheesy little devotional thoughts that were not meeting our spiritual needs at all.

Bold Course was truly an answer to our prayers.  Not only did it enrich our personal quiet times through journaling, memorizing verses, and praying for missionaries around the world, it gave our spiritual discussions as a couple a refreshing jump start.  Finally we were having deep spiritual discussions that challenged our thinking and gave us greater spiritual intimacy, and it was so easy! 

I’m a very busy person between work and school, and Bold Course did all of the planning for me.  All I had to do was briefly look over the “Family Worship Guide” and set up a time to meet with my wife – Bold Course did the rest.  If you don’t have much time or aren’t sure where to start but crave deep spiritual moments with your spouse, this curriculum is exactly what you’ve been looking for! 

Just give it a try for a week or two…you’ll find your spiritual life greatly enhanced and will never want to go back to the way things were before.
